Summer - we wish...Welcome to the July edition of Creation Challenge!
My sincere apologies that we missed the April edition, the only excuse I can offer is that I moved pastorates in April.

So as we continue into Summer, with its apparently random mix of sunshine and showers, let us give mind to the events that are coming up this autumn and the roles that we can play both locally, nationally and internationally, in acting for change and doing our part in living it out. (more…)

New energy saving resources

Shrinking the FootprintNew toolkits and resources with energy saving tips and guidance for the CofE’s churches, cathedrals, schools and clergy homes are now available at www.shrinkingthefootprint.org.

These include downloadable action plans and checklists along with advice on considering the appropriate use of renewable energy in church buildings.

Greening Mission – new life at 100!

centenary_book_front200The centenary of a church is a significant anniversary. Tracey Lewis, Minister of Trinity-Henleaze URC tells the story of their celebrations and where it has led them:

2007 was the year we turned 100 and we wanted to celebrate. The church was planted amongst fields and park land, before neighbouring houses were built to form what is now the community of Henleaze. So, 100 year later, we thought we should celebrate with our long-standing neighbours.

We arranged four ‘Community Conversation Evenings’ and issued an open invitation, well advertised, to the first evening asking “Is God Green?”

Copenhagen Summit

Find out more …. There will also be an ecumenical service on that day at Westminster Central Hall.

Film Review: The Age of Stupid

The Age of StupidThis film has been shown up and down the country not only in cinemas but also in at Eco or peace fairs or other gatherings arranged by community groups.  Pete Postlethwaite, the Oscar nominated actor and director, narrates the film.  The style is that of an entertaining documentary and in spite of the serious theme has some lighter moments.
